Itumeleng Hlapane, Shape Café’s founding CEO, a dynamic social & creative entrepreneur, Gordon Institute of Business Science’s (GIBS) graduate/alumni/business mentor/brand ambassador, former business administration training facilitator & content developer for Business & Arts South Africa, Southern African Association of Youth Clubs, British Council’s DICE Programme; a professional dancer/choreographer/creative director with many years of national and international experience and accolades, and former Converse Brand Ambassador of 4 years.

His professional performing arts career started in 2004 with Moving Into Dance, one of the biggest African Contemporary Dance Companies on the African continent. His spell at Moving Into Dance ended in 2009. A year later Itumeleng auditioned for an internationally acclaimed commercial dance choreographer & creative director, Harold Van Buuren as a dancer and later got appointed as his assistant choreographer until he left the company in 2015 to pursue his business studies with GIBS. The duo choreographed for many award ceremonies from South African Film Television Awards, METRO FM Awards, SAMAs, MTV Awards, KORA All Music Awards in Ivory Coast, Miss Tourism Universe 2016, H&M African store launches, and many more corporate events. Hlapane’s choreographic talent earned him a spot on an international reality TV dance show So You Think You Can Dance SA as a choreographer and Strictly Come Dancing SA dance coach and was later endorsed by Converse as its brand ambassador for 4 years.
