DOMINION & UMNIKELO
This is a double bill created by Luyanda Sidiya which was nominated for best international production in Toronto Canada 2012. Umnikelo was part of the double bill Mayhem that won the 2012 Silver Standard Bank Ovation Award at the 2012 National Arts Festival.
MAKWANDE
Sidiya went on to create a solo called Makwande which is based around abundance and prosperity, this work premiered at the 44th Kuopio dance Festival in Finland June 2013.
BRICS SUMMIT 2018
Luthando Arts Accademy was awarded the role of Choreography, we provided Direction as well as the appointment of our own dancers for the BRICS Summit 2018 held in South Africa.
SOUTH AFRICA – GHANA SEASON
In the year 2018 Luthando Arts Academy was the
head of the collaboration of companies as well as
the whole creative aesthetic involved in
celebrating 100 years of the legacy behind Walter
Sisulu and Nelson Mandela.
THINA
This is a captivating story about a South African
family and relationships dialogue told through the
choreography of Phumlani Nyanga. Thina
premiered at Market Theatre in 2019.
SOUTH AFRICA – KENYA SEASON
Luthando Arts Academy was appointed as head of
the South Africa- Kenya season for the
celebration of the 25years of Democracy that we
are in. The company was in charge of liaising with
the collaborative bodies as well as conducting
and choreographing for the entire production for
2019
ITHEMBA
An original work created and performed by Thulisile
Binda, this is a solo piece that was directed by Thoko
Seganye. This work features religion, death and
personal relationships as a theme that carries on
throoughout the performance. iThemba premiered at
The State Theatre in August 2019.
NINA WABANTU
This is and original dance piece that was
written by Thulisile Binda, this work features
themes of relationships between mothers and
daughters at birth. This work is currently being
developed and is schedued to premiere in the
month of September at the Jomba Festival.

PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION 2019
In the year of 2019 Sidiya was granted the
role of Head Choreographer for the
Presidential Inauguration and Luthando Arts
academy appointed some of our own dancers
in the cast of this production.
MOPHATO DANCE THEATRE
In 2012 Sidiya was invited to choreograph a
production for Botswana based dance
Company Mophato Dance Theatre titled
Hayani.
SKEEM SAAM
Luthando Arts Academy was appointed to head
the creative aspect of dance and movement as
well as the choreography of the actors who
belong to the Skeem Saam production in the
2019
WORLD CHOIR GAMES 2018
Luyanda Sidiya was appointed the role of Head
Choreographer through Luthando Arts Academy
for the World Choir Games 2018 which were held
in South Africa.
SIVA
This is an original creation by Sidya. This
production premiered at the South African
National Arts Festival in 2018
AMAWETHU
Amawethu is the latest creation by Luyanda Sidiya,
the show deals with societal distortions and the
confrontation of those distortions. Amawethu
premiered in the month of July at the National Arts
Festival held in Grahamstown in 2019, this
production was sold out from the first day it
